Narrative Therapy for
 Women’s Life Transitions

I specialize in women's life transitions.  My practice philosophy has been shaped by one of my favorite poets, Mary Oliver. In her poem "The Summer Day" she asks:

"What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"

This question informs my practice and is a focal component of my work as I encourage women to explore the complexities of finding fulfillment when making life choices related to career, marriage, motherhood, fertility, parenting, emotional, physical and psychological well-being.

A specific issue I target in my practice is the struggle to discern between "wants" and "shoulds".  Clarifying the difference between personal preferences (wants) and external expectations (shoulds) is a crucial step for gaining insight into one's most authentic self.

With over 15 years of client-centered practice, my approach is rooted in a humanistic blend of psychotherapies.   Some of the specific disciplines from which I draw are Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioral, Insight-Oriented, Existential, Expressive and Psychodynamic Therapies.
